About

Amr Soliman is a professional guitarist with more than 15 years of professional experience. He is one of the founders and performers of the Gypsy Jazz Project. He also has a long history of musical teaching.
Amr started playing guitar at the age of 16, at that time he was influenced by rock and blues music, learned reading music from classical works by Johan Sebastien Bach, Fernando Sor, Mauro Giuliani, Heitor Villa-Lobos, Isaac Albéniz, and others, later worked on some flamenco techniques from famous methods by Manuel Granados and Gerardo Nunez. At that time, he was able to successfully pass the Trinity Guildhall exam for Classical Guitar Grade 7 with a Merit degree.
Participated in many workshops conducted by Fathy Salama and organized by El Mawred El Saqafy Association. During the workshops, Amr’s attention was caught by the freethinking of Jazz music. Later Amr studied for 4 years with Mr. Rashad Fahim who taught him music theory and jazz harmony. He also performed with “The Gypsy Jazz Project” at The Cairo Jazz Festival 2019.
As for the teaching part, Amr is working on new ways to get his thoughts down in ways that are more efficient for delivering the information in a creative yet easy way to his students.
